Wow-ing at Windsor

Our latest client event was held in September at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel in Windsor.

Located on the banks of the River Thames, in this beautiful and historic royal town, the Sir Christopher Wren is a four-star hotel, within walking distance of Windsor Castle.

We were really pleased to welcome ten of our clients, and their partners, for a relaxed, intimate dinner. Hosted by the hotel’s General Manager, Karl Wilson and Director of Sales, Jenny Allan, we were superbly looked after throughout the duration of our stay.

We kicked off our visit with arrival drinks, before being given a guided tour of the hotel. There is a wide selection of room types, all beautifully decorated. For a real traditional English experience, a stay in the 17th Century Heritage House, with its original wooden beams and floorboards, is not to be missed.

"The Brasserie affords glorious riverside views and there is a stunning bar and terrace”

We all stayed in the ‘Grand Rooms’, which were extremely spacious and came complete with iPod docks, Nespresso coffee machines, complimentary bathrobes and slippers and separate walk-in showers with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Some of the rooms enjoyed spectacular views across to Windsor Castle.

Within the hotel, there are also seven serviced apartments, providing more spacious accommodation for lengthier stays.

All guests have access to the Wren’s Club and Spa next door.

A range of modern, contemporary meeting rooms can accommodate up to 65 delegates, whilst the Princess Suite or Sienna Room in the main house are perfect for cocktail receptions, banquets, Christmas parties and conferences.

We enjoyed a fabulous three-course dinner in The Brasserie restaurant. With its large windows, The Brasserie affords glorious riverside views and there is a stunning bar and terrace.

There was a delectable selection of starters to choose from, including lobster salad, pan-seared scallops and pork cheek and chilli croquettes, followed by mains of minted lamb cutlet, Ballantine of chicken and pancetta wrapped monkfish. Desserts included a classic Eton Mess, apple crumble and a selection of cheeses. After dinner, we retired to the bar for a nightcap.

The following morning after a comfortable sleep, we all tucked into a hearty breakfast back in The Brasserie, before heading our separate ways. For us, that involved a stroll around Windsor, with its fabulous selection of shops, bars and restaurants, before the drive back home.

The Sir Christopher Wren is ideally located; with Windsor and Eton Central Station just a five-minute walk away, offering regular trains to London Paddington via Slough. Trains to London Waterloo are a two-minute walk away at Windsor and Eton Riverside Station. Heathrow Airport is 15-minutes by road.
