Fabulous Fairmont Windsor Park - a luxury new hotel nestled next to Windsor Great Park

Last month, Philippa and I were fortunate enough to be invited to the newly opened Fairmont Windsor Park to find out more about this 5-star luxury hotel and wellness centre, located right on the edge of the historic Windsor Great Park. Officially opened on 1st January, the hotel is on the site of the former Savill Court Hotel.

First impressions certainly didn’t disappoint, with a grand driveway leading up to a magnificent grand country house, surrounded by over 40 acres of green open space, forests and a tranquil lake.

Inside, the wow factor continues with a spectacular atrium. There’s even an old-fashioned sweetshop, Mr Simms, in the hotel lobby. The hotel boasts 200 rooms and lavish suites all designed using natural stone and soft textures to create an indulgent but modern vibe. The Signature Royal Suite, with its own private entrance, enjoys two luxurious en-suite bedrooms with walk-in dressing rooms, spacious living area and grand dining room for private entertainment, plus butler’s kitchen. There’s also private access to a VIP spa area!

There’s a wide choice of dining options, with a tea lounge, specialty dining restaurant, champagne bar, gin bar, library lounge, wellness café and all-day dining restaurant. And all the crockery in the hotel is bespoke. The hotel uses locally grown products, as well as those from The Royal Farms, Windsor artisans and its very own herb and vegetable garden.

At 2,500m², the spa and leisure facilities are vast. Spread over two floors, there’s 18 treatment rooms and four wellness rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a cryotherapy chamber, traditional marble Hamman and Japanese footbath, as well as a Truefit & Hill barbers. If you’re looking for a luxury spa break, the Fairmont Windsor Park more than delivers!

For meetings and events, there’s 15 elegant rooms all situated in one wing of the hotel. The delicious aroma of new leather boardroom chairs greeted us as we toured the meeting rooms. The jewel in the crown is a spectacular 800m² pillar-free ballroom which can accommodate up to 700 guests.

"Windsor Castle provides an impressive backdrop and is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world.”

Hosts for our tour of the hotel were John Swift, Sales Director and Michael Yeung, Senior Sales Manager at the Fairmont Windsor Park, along with Priya Thiara, Group Account Director for Arora Hotels, the group which acquired the hotel in 2014.

We were presented with champagne before being whisked to the Orchid Tea Room, so-called in homage to the original owners of this magnificent mansion house who collected orchids from their travels around the world and displayed them in this room. Here we were treated to a very indulgent afternoon tea with scrummy sandwiches, scones and clotted cream and wickedly naughty cakes and sweet treats, beautifully crafted by the hotel’s expert pâtisserie and chocolatier team.

The hotel is conveniently located within 20 minutes of Heathrow and easy reach of Central London. There’s a wealth of activities to enjoy in the grounds whilst the 4,800-acre Windsor Great Park is just a stone’s throw away. Windsor Castle provides an impressive backdrop and is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. With a Royal history spanning more than 1,000 years, this is a very special part of the UK to host an event. We’d love to tell you more about our visit to the Fairmont Windsor Park, so please get in touch with Philippa or me.
