Last week I was lucky enough to leave the office for the day and explore the venues London has to offer!
This was my first lot of site visits in London and I was very excited to see them in person rather than photos online!
I first started at the AMBA Charing Cross Hotel which is a grade 1 listed building so it was absolutely stunning! Stories such as the hand rail up the stairs being dented from the hotel being bombed in World War 2 made the hotel have a lot more character.
AMBA Charing Cross has 9 beautiful meeting rooms varying from 200 to 2 and with all meeting rooms on the same level, makes it the perfect London hotel if you were looking for something that can be very exclusive.
My next site visit was the 5* grade 1 listed building, The Royal Horseguards. Known for having the largest free standing marble staircase in Europe, this hotel has a lot to offer! With 14 spaces to hold meetings and events and 282 bedrooms you can really use the space in many ways.
After the tour, we sat down on the Terrace to have lunch. Picking what to eat had to be the hardest decision I had to make all day! There was so much to choose from and such a variety!
After lunch, I made my way to ETC Venues County Hall. Situated on the 3rd and 4th floor of County Hall, the venue was very open and modern with a lot of natural daylight and a beautiful large dining area for delegates.
The venue has 50 meeting rooms with capacities from 2 – 400 making it a great venue for events needing many breakout rooms.
ETC Venues work closely with the local hotels with the 5* London Marriott County Hall, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and a Premier Inn all within walking distance.
For my last two visits, I went to Park Plaza River Bank and Westminster Bridge. Both very similar hotels but very different sizes. Park Plaza Westminster Bridge has over 1000 bedrooms and 35 meeting rooms reaching to a capacity of 2000 for a standing reception. For this hotel, you are able to have everything under the same roof.
The Park Plaza River Bank is only a short drive from the Westminster Bridge (only a £4 taxi) and can offer just under 500 bedrooms and meeting space of up to 650. This venue has recently been refurbished and now has an amazing new spa available for all guests!!
